Juvenile Dermatomyositis and Juvenile Polymyositis are the most common forms of JM (Juvenile Myositis) – a rare autoimmune disease that affects approximately 17,000 children and adults, and nearly 1,000 new cases are diagnosed in the US every year. JM causes a variety of debilitating symptoms including: muscle weakness and pain, severe fatigue, rashes, swallowing and digestive difficulties, lung and heart problems, vasculitic ulcers, and calcinosis.
The Cure JM Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is an all-volunteer group managed by families and friends of JM patients. Created specifically to find a cure for this disease, the Cure JM Foundation is working to raise awareness of JM while also providing support and information to families suffering from JM.
