Welcome to I RIDE FOR THE KIDS. This site is a portal of information and links to resources that I wish was available a year ago when our little boy Tyler was diagnosed with Leukemia.
Think of it as a place to visit to rebuild and recharge for the road of life.
Along the way, we found a few cool distractions to keep us afloat during our journey…so we included a few of our favorite links and gadgets for you guys to check out.
IRIDEFORTHEKIDS.com is filled with helpful links needed for the first minute, hour, day, months, and years of rebuilding and developing a new game plan for families like ours who have just had a dynamic change of plan to their daily life existence.
Think of it this way: One day you are just doing your thing and have finished putting all your toys away, then… someone comes and dumps everything out all over the place…it’s a disaster!! From there you have to find a way to reorganize and get everything put back together and start moving back in the right direction.
The site is simply a token of respect from the Blick family to give back to the new families who have to wear our shoes in the future. It’s not about one kid… it’s not about cancer; it’s about giving a boost of encouragement to all kids who need a little support through a hard time.
These are the words that have helped us see through the darkness: “It’s half in your head, half in your heart….keep your head straight and your heart will follow”
